Description: A support group for those who have lost a loved one. Those who have suffered the loss of a loved one will find help and support through a grief recovery workshop.
GROW is an eight week session support group that draws upon: the caring of the members of the group for each other; the learning of the grief process; the discovery of the resources of faith/spirituality; the growth producing effect of reaching out to others; and the personal development that happens as the result of participation in the grief work.
The purpose of our grief group is to help each member deal constructively with the feelings and practical problems that result from our losses and to learn how to help others wounded by grief.
Participants are encouraged to wait three months after a loss before attending a grief group. We do expect participants to express openness, keep confidentiality, and maintain commitment to the group process.
The first two sessions are open meetings. From the 3rd to the 8th session, the meetings will be closed for participants only. There is no cost to participate. GROW groups are offered four times a year. For more information call 775-982-4125.
