Memory Wall
We got the idea for a "Memory Wall" after seeing photo screens in stores. The items placed in the frames are representative of the types of memorabilia you could use.
Family Photos
A favorite handmade card
Pictures of pets
Pictures of other items related to their business or line of work Items that they handcrafted such as crocheted doilies, quilt squares, paintings, etc.
Wedding or birth announcements
Dried flowers
The cover from a beloved book
Sheet music from an instrument they played or a favorite tune
A favorite recipe
Awards

You could also include cherished letters, photos of favorite automobiles, sports memorabilia (ticket stubs, pennants, etc. movie or play programs, jewelry, pilot's license, membership certificates (Mason's, Job's Daughters, etc.) restaurant menus from favorite places, etc.
This type of presentation is nice because it is accessible to someone who is not able to turn the pages of a book and is visible to those who are bed bound or in a wheelchair. It can be displayed at home, in a long term care facility, or group home. It will help to establish the owner as an individual to unfamiliar visitors by letting them see different elements of that person's history.
You will have many ideas of your own! We would love for you to share them with us so that we can pass them on to others.
