Free Legal Assistance for Seniors!
The Department of Health & Human Services and the Aging and Disabilities Services Division announces Free Legal Assistance is Available to Nevada Senior Citizens Seniors, age 60 and older can dial 1-877-693-2163 (toll free) to be provided assistance with almost any legal problem, including housing, consumer issues, health care, public benefits, estate planning, wills, guardianships, and other matters that are not criminal in nature.
The service, funded through a grant received by DAS from the United States Administration on Aging, is staffed by attorneys and paralegals from Nevada Legal Services and the Washoe County Senior Law Project.

Are you caring for a child with special needs?
MetLife established MetDESK, MetLife's Division of Estate Planning for Special Kids, in 1998 as a public service for families with children of all ages, from infant to senior, and with all kinds of disabilities.
Through a network of local financial services representatives, MetDESK helps families find the resources within their communities to secure both lifetime care and quality of life for their dependents with special needs.
MetDESK help families address such issues as protecting government benefit eligibility for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid and ways in which a special needs trust can provide lifetime care. In addition, MetDESK helps with guardianship issues, advocacy training, and appropriate vehicles to fund a special needs trust. The Social Security Administration has released the on-line application for extra help with Medicare prescription drug costs. The application is located at www.socialsecurity.gov
